Book of the Festival
We are celebrating the life and work of Angela Carter at this year’s Wordfest and, thanks to the kind support of Vintage Classics, The Bloody Chamber is our book of the festival.
On the 20th anniversary of Angela Carter’s death we have invited Liz Calder (her publisher), Susannah Clapp (her friend and literary executor and author of A Card from Angela Carter) and lifelong fan, Ali Smith, to celebrate her achievement. The panel will be discussing The Bloody Chamber as well as other works by Carter in "Angela Carter: A Celebration" at 6pm on Saturday 14 April in the Union Chamber (tickets £10/£8.)
We are delighted to have 200 copies of The Bloody Chamber to give away FREE to book groups across the region ahead of the event. To obtain your free copies simply block book 5 or more tickets for the event by sending a cheque to the festival office address (see below) for the total number of tickets you would like, together with your contact details (including email address and phone number).
For any enquiries please call 01223 515335 or email [email protected]. The books will be available for collection from the festival office in Cambridge or from your local library service within Cambridgeshire.
We hope that many of you can join us to celebrate the life and works of this extraordinary artist.
