Our Festival Friends are people who love books, love the Wordfest weekend and we love them for it. The Friends was formed to support and raise money for the festival. For a small membership fee you can enjoy many benefits and make a vital contribution to the future success of Cambridge Wordfest.
To become a Friend simply send an email to admin@cambridgewordfest.co.uk with 'Friends' in the subject line.
The Benefits
Early priority booking
Friends get the benefit of being able to buy tickets ahead of the box office being open to the general public.
Invitation to receptions
Last year Friends were invited to the programme launch reception and the opening night reception.
Regular Newsletter
Friends are the first to hear festival news.
10% discount on books
Heffers, the festival bookseller offer 10% discount on books sold over the festival weekend.
Signed books reservation service
To beat the queues or if you can’t be there simply pre-order and Heffers will do the rest.
Discounts in participating cafes and restaurants over the wordfest weekend:
- The Cambridge Chop House are offering a free caraffe of wine to diners ordering a minimum of two courses from their main menu.
- Pizza Express (Jesus Lane) are offering diners a free glass of house Shiraz or Chardonnay when spending over £7 on a main course.
- Benets (Benet Street) are offering 10% off food and drink.

Membership runs from January to January.

£15 single £25 double (two names at same address)
Best Friend
Individuals who donate £100 or more – now guarantees 2 free tickets for the opening night event (this year it is Wendy Cope).
Corporate Friend
Companies who donate £250 or more. Will receive special mention on festival website.
