A penetrating look at the life and work of this accomplished novelist who died in Auschwitz. Her works include the classic Suite Française, David Golder and the most recently translated, The Wine of Solitude. A rare opportunity to hear Sandra Smith, Nemirovsky’s English translator, and Angela Kershaw, expert in French literature, conjure up the brilliance of this great author.

Chaired by Ruth Scurr, historian and biographer, author of Fatal Purity: Robespierre and the French Revolution.
