Fastest Box Office Opening Day Ever
Tickets for Winter Wordfest went on sale to the general public last Friday and it was our most successful opening day ever.
In less than half an hour, our event with Ian Hislop and Adam Macqueen marking the 50th anniversary of Private Eye had sold out, breaking Box Office records at the ADC Theatre. Early this week we had two more sell outs. Tickets to our event with Claire Tomalin talking about her new biography of Charles Dickens were snapped up fast. By Tuesday, all of the tickets to see local star Simon Baron-Cohen on his new book Zero Degrees of Empathy at our second venue had been sold.
Tickets are continuing to sell fast, so do be sure to get yours now to avoid missing out. Many of the events on our stunning one-day programme still have availablity, with highlights including BBC presenter Francine Stock on the power of cinema, Darian Leader on understanding madness, David Baddiel in conversation with Suzi Feay on his work and local author Ali Smith on the story behind her dazzling new novel There but for the.
