Winter Wordfest 2012 is set to host some of its most political conversations yet. Get your tickets for Nick Robinson, the BBC’s political editor, as he tells his inside story of power, politics and the media. Not to be missed is Labour MP for Tottenham David Lammy and Guardian journalist Paul Lewis as they reflect on Britain after the riots. Come and witness Deputy Chair of the Labour Party, Tom Watson and Independent journalist, Martin Hickman, investigate News Corporation, corruption and one of the biggest media scandals ever to shake Britain.
As always, we promise some of the biggest names from the world of literature. Adding his unique energy and exuberance to the mix will be the innovative poet John Hegley who guarantees a lively evening. In a Wordfest debut not to be is missed is Edna O’Brien as she explores the difficult journey from repression to expression in her strikingly moving memoir Country Girl. Best-selling novelists Kate Mosse (Labyrinth) and Joanne Harris (Chocolat) combine forces to discuss their latest novels Citadel and Peaches for Monseuir le Curé, and Rose Tremain returns to discuss Merivel, her highly anticipated sequel to the acclaimed Restoration.
