Using exercises and examples from contemporary poetry, this workshop will explore 'the art of losing'. Poems can make lost things reappear, and we will discover techniques and strategies to do just that, finding out along the way how qualia - that is, the quality in a description which makes us smell a specific kind of coffee or see the particular green of a leaf - can help. Jo Shapcott is an award winning poet and accomplished workshop leader.
