What is the relationship between historical source material and story for the historical novelist? How can the novelist or short story writer bring history to life in a way that is true to fact and at the same time make the reader feel they are time-travelling? Historical novelist Rebecca Stott will use a variety of source materials to teach some of the techniques of 'translating' historical sources into narrative.
